It is that time again. Time for C.A.S.T. Time for fun and excitement. It is time to go fishing! Here at C.A.S.T, the main goal is to have these children smile and just have fun! Tom Spencer a Kansas State Trooper along with other wonderful Kansas State Troopers, The Kansas Highway Patrol, Kansas Wildlife and Parks, Kansas Bass Chapter Federation Nation and several other agencies and businesses help make C.A.S.T a fun filled day for these children.
So the annual CALLING ALL BOATERS has come once again. We need your help to make this successful for these children. It is with your generosity and giving hearts that makes this day work. We are looking for 50 Bass, Walleye, Crappie fisherman with boats who would like to assist with this special event.  We have fifty children and need fifty boaters  who would like to make  difference in a child's life. To come down at 7:00 AM, Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Shady Creek Marina, El Dorado Lake and make some children smile.
C.A.S.T understands that there are some anglers out there that are active in fishing tournaments the weekends before and after the 21ST. What better way to pass the time while waiting for that fish to bite than to tell your partner about C.A.S.T and then the following weekend how you made a difference in a child's life. How you became a hero to a child for a day. Just one day for you but a memory for life for that child. Kansas Conservation Project 2008

Doug Nygren from the Kansas Wildlife and Parks joined forces with the Kansas B.A.S.S. Chapter Federation Nation March 1 2008.

Doug Nygren talks about all the new and upcoming projects that the Kansas Wildlife and Parks have in store for 2008 with the new fish aquarium that they hope to have at as many events this year as possible. Doug Nygren is also working with the Castingkids events and plans to have the "Kansas Wildlife and Parks Fish Aquarium" at as many events as possible.

Doug also goes into the Bass Pass procedures for professional bass fishing tournaments to be held around the state of Kansas.

Nintendo Wii w/ Rapala Tounament Fishing

Let me start out I was very nervous about buying this video game to start with scenes how we just got a brand new WII on a few weeks ago from our backorder. It seems that Nintendo really had one heck of a year selling the Wii. I tell you it has been worth every penny.

The coolest games come alive including Rapala Tournament, now I am not even a tipe to play these normally my son does I just buy them because I want to play but can never find the time. That is why we fish why do I need this video game? Well for one does not really let you play the game until you answer a few history questions about Rapala and their product line. Such as color of box a particular bait. You can preview your baits in your menus and noticed a ton are locked. You have to fish tournaments and answer tests in order to advance to the next round it really makes you think and after awhile you have memorized their baits and are ready to fish in a virtual world of fishing on the WII.

I must admit the graphics are still a bit to box and edge dominate they still have some great shots of largemouth bass exploding out of the water trying to shake your lure off. The controller functions I found once I started exploring the game menus is where I found controls and this showed me how to steer the Ranger Bass Boat and how to use the rod controls for casting and my tension increase and decrease.

While checking out the menu I also came across some hidden extras, I found a ton of videos within this game. However there is a catch to being able to see the tips and trick from the pros. You have to answer a certain number of questions from the test correctly before you can watch them. Also as you do certain tasks with the game you can upgrade your rod and real combo and purchase baits. You even get an actual live well.

So far I really like the game.
